About the Artist

Andika

Andika Oky Arisandi is an Indonesian documentary and human-interest photographer based on the island of Java. Originally trained as a sports teacher, he left that career to pursue photography full-time. This decision led him to found Kampung Nusantara, a photo-tour initiative that travels across Indonesia's regions each month to document everyday life and local culture.

Andika's work centers on people: rural communities, quiet daily rituals, and the human stories. He describes his approach as capturing fleeting moments so they can be held onto permanently, treating each photograph as a small act of preservation.

His images draw inspiration from the 19th-century Indonesian master painter Raden Saleh, whose romanticist sensibility and cultural rootedness echo through Andika's own visual storytelling.

His photography has been recognized in international competitions and featured in publications including outlets affiliated with the United Nations, alongside various newspapers and magazines abroad.

For Jaga Prints, Andika brings a distinctly Southeast Asian documentary voice that is intimate, empathetic, saturated and grounded in community and heritage.
