About the Artist

Anh Nguyen

Anh Nguyen is a Berlin-based photographer whose path into the medium started almost by accident. She moved to the city to study and picked up a camera as a way to get to know her new surroundings, a hobby that quickly grew into a defined creative practice.

Her visual style is spare and architectural, built around bold, often futuristic buildings paired with a single human figure. Rather than treating architecture as a cold backdrop, Anh uses that lone presence to animate the space. A person moving through a structure gives it scale, warmth, and a sense of life it wouldn't have alone.

Ask Anh which image represents her best, and she'll point to a series of a lone figure moving through a massive, almost sculptural buildings, diagonal lines cutting across the frame and warm light on dark shadows. It's the clearest distillation of what she's always after: a structure that could easily read as cold on it's own, that transforms the moment we breathe life around it

For Jaga Prints, Anh's work carries the perspective of an outsider discovering a city on her own terms, a Vietnamese student who arrived in Berlin without knowing it, and slowly built a way of seeing it through the camera. That outsider's curiosity is still visible in her photography: an eye drawn to the city's most striking, unfamiliar architecture, softened and made personal by the presence of a single figure moving through it.
